Benefiber®
Novartis Consumer Health, Summit, NJ, has introduced Benefiber®, a new soluble dietary fiber made of partially hydrolyzed guar gum. It can be used in both solid and liquid products to increase fiber content without affecting natural texture, color or flavor. One tablespoon (4 grams) provides 3 grams of soluble dietary fiber and adults can take up to five tablespoons a day to help them get the amount of fiber recommended as part of a healthy diet by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
